Now before you get your hopes up, we should be clear: we’re not paying for written submissions. Not in cold hard cash, at least. However, we think the numbers above outline some pretty good reasons to write for Omaha.net. Other reaons:
We are very flexible. You can write on almost any topic. Even if someone else is already covering sports, they’re not covering it like you are (that’s one of the great things about the web, there’s plenty of space for all). We only ask that our contributors be available to post at least 1 article per month. That’s it!
We’ll make your writing look good. Whether this means professional editing, professional photography, or even some guerilla video, trust us, we want your work to look as good as possible, and we’re going to help it get there. If you don’t have time to do all of this, we’ll send someone out to do it for you!
We’ll love your writing if it has style. Newspapers, Larry King, news radio: all great, but not exactly known for their cutting edge style. We’re not saying that we’re turning the avant-garde on their ear, but we’re certainly willing to take on what’s new, what’s fresh, and what’s different. We don’t have to play by anybody’s rules: just yours. If you don’t believe us, why don’t you take a look at our Guide of Style to see what we’re all about.
