Tom Snyders, “The Bicycling Comedian,” will be stopping in Omaha for a benefit comedy show for Omaha Bikes. The one-night-only performance will be held Monday, August 2, 2010 at Barley’s Bar & Grill (1510 Cuming St). Tickets for the show are 8:00 and are sold at the door.

Snyders, who is in the area to ride the first three days of RAGBRAI, will be heading back west and through Omaha. During a conversation recently with Sarah Johnson, manager of Greenstreet Cycles in Omaha, the idea to host a fundraiser for the Omaha Bikes, a nonprofit, was discussed.

Snyders has been riding a bicycle to all his stand-up comedy performances throughout the United States for the past 20 years. In that time, he has pedaled more than 150,000 miles and to all 50 states and 33 countries on six continents.

Snyders has performed at more than 200 different comedy clubs and has made ten national television appearances — his most recent on Good Morning America. He’s also appeared on LIVE with Regis and Kathie Lee (three times), Comedy Central and ESPN. Tom has been a featured performer at the “Just For Laughs” International Comedy Festival in Montreal, Canada. He’s also performed at comedy festivals in both Sydney and Perth, Australia and in Edinburgh, Scotland.
