EmailAnnual Benson SummerFest Takes Fun To The Streets
The annual Benson SummerFest will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 8:00 AM – 1:00 AM The public is invited to enjoy this free celebration of arts, crafts, music, food and fun in the heart of historic downtown Benson on Maple Street between 59th and 63rd Streets.
The Benson SummerFest is coordinated by the Benson Business Association and features local artists, crafters, food vendors, an auto show, a motorcycle show, a beer garden, and a variety of live musical performances throughout the day. A special Kid Zone area, sponsored by Bank of the West, will keep children busy with games, face painting and inflatable attractions.
The American Red Cross Blood Bus will be parked at Benson SummerFest from 10:00 PM - 3:00 PM for anyone wishing to donate blood. Anyone who donates will have a chance to win a trip for four to Orlando, Florida.
The music starts on the outdoor stage at 12:00 PM and will host a variety of musicians throughout the day, including country artist Jaymie Jones at 6:00 PM, and Lemon Fresh Day from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM
But the party doesn’t stop there — as SummerFest After Dark heats up with 25+
bands performing at 5 venues along Maple Street beginning at 9 PM until 1 AM. A $10 wristband gets you access to all the bands, all night long! Check out the BensonSummerFest.com website for a complete list of bands.
The Benson Business Association, along with various corporate sponsors, fund the event which helps support additional community-involvement events in Benson throughout the year.
