Omaha Improv-Stravaganza featuring ShLong Form Improv
Fresh from touring across the Canadian Fringe Festival circuit to packed houses and rave reviews, international improv sensation ShLong Form Improv will perform at the Pizza Shoppe Collective at 6056 Maple Street in Benson alongside members of native Omaha improv troupes for one night only on Saturday, October 22nd at 8:30 p.m. This night of collaborative improvised comedy promises to entertain with spontaneous storytelling and high-energy zaniness.
The Improv-Stravaganza opens with local improv favorites who ahve been making Omaha laugh for years, members of The Weisenheimers, SkullProv!, 88 Improv and Babies Making Babies. Then, ShLong Form will take the stage with its innovative blend of SHort- and LONG-form improv that has captivated and delighted audiences all over the world by making random suggestions come to life with their charismatic character creation and propensity for the preposterous. This first-of-its-kind event closes with an improv jam featuring ALL of the actors from ALL of the troupes working together for the very first time right in front of your eyes!
ShLong Form Improv features veteran imrpvisers from the Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul and Colorado Improv Festivals. It was developed by key members of Seoul City Improv, Seoul, Korea’s premier improv comedy troupe. Under the Seoul City Improv banner the ShLongers performed in Korea for several years, toured throughout all of Asia, and performed in multiple international improv festivals all around the world. ShLong Form Improv toured to eight Canadian Fringe Festivals from Montreal to Vancouver in summer 2011 and is now on its final performance tour across the United States.
