History
The Omaha Farmers Market is a tradition nearly one hundred years in the making. The "City Market" on the corner of 11th and Jackson Streets was home to a very popular farmers market. Local residents and grocers relied on the market for their produce and fresh goods beore its closing in 1964.
After a 30 year hiatus, the Omaha Farmers Market returned in 1994, once again filling the Old Market with a selection of fresh locally grown produce, baked goods, and flowers. It is the best opportunity in Omaha for the would-be supermarket shopper to buy fresh local products and meet the farmers that makethis tradition possible!
