loom Weaves Rhythm - what’s that about? … Well, before there was loom, there was Rhythm. And I don’t mean that in some esoteric creationist sort of way. There literally was a party that took place every Wednesday night at Bricktop in Lincoln by the name of Rhythm from around 2004-2005. Not many of you have heard of it because, well … not many people went. But Dr. Zhivago and myself DJ’ed it every week for nearly a year. Jay Kline was always there without fail with the one or two other people we drove up from Omaha with, often times being the only ones on the dance floor for up to an hour. The music that was played, the relationships that were formed, the inspiration that was born … it all helped lead to what later became known as loom.
So on this night, we give a long overdue welcome to the other resident Rhythm DJ, Dr. Zhivago as we delve into an ALL VINYL set of old school deep house selections that were played throughout the Rhythm period.
