Last year’s loom event in Joslyn’s Sculpture Garden drew 700 people of all ages and colors. The spontaneous multicultural festival atmosphere features music and dance, live instrumentation, body painting, live art, yoga, dance performances and other artful expressions. Beginning at 5 pm, the Museum galleries are open until 8 pm and the party will stretch on, outdoors, until midnight! Bring the family & pack a picnic or purchase dinner outside at Joslyn’s grill; cash bar available ‘til midnight.

This year’s headlining performer is a cross-continental music alchemist by the name of Nickodemus. As a DJ and producer, he explores the intersection of urban & world music with the sounds of funk, folk, jazz, hip-hop, house and dub—all with the message of peace, awareness & love for the dance. His Turntables On The Hudson events have been outdoor celebrations for over a decade in New York, making him the perfect DJ to perform in the sculpture garden. He’s been commissioned to remix everything from Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Thievery Corporation, Sultan Khan, Boozoo Banjou, Truby Trio and more. Wax Poetics said of his recent album, "Riding high on a whirlwind energy of world beats, Sun People sounds like a steamy summer of bright nights and breaking dawns—Simply put, this is hot." Even National Geographic gives him the thumbs up when it wrote, "From Balkan Reggae to Latin Mantras, Nickodemus holds a mirror up to the World, reminding us of our inherent beauty while inviting us to a dance we’ll never forget."
