Spring Open House
First weekend of May
One of our biggest events of the year, the Hot Shops Open House features informative art demonstrations and live music. Plus, most of the Hot Shops artists will have their studio doors open to the public! Live music, informative demos, cool art, dense location — a genuine good time.
Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd, 2010.
Come on down, say goodbye to winter, and see what all the fuss is!
DEMONSTRATIONS: Bronze pouring, clay work and raku firings, iron forging, and glass blowing are taking place in the south side of the building, plus many of the artists will also be demonstrating their work in the studios, such as painting, sculpture, and photography…

LIVE MUSIC: Musical groups will perform during the day. Visitors will be able to listen to a wide variety of music on the first floor of the Hot Shops.
GALLERIES: Come check out the galleries, many of the artists will be on hand. Shows include the Metro Student Show in the Nicholas Street Gallery, plus The Visual Voice of Three Women Revisited in the 1301 Gallery. Also, the Alley Gallery will feature the photography work of Gabriel McGrath.
