The 2010 Omaha Farmers Market is open every Saturday from May 1st to October 9th. Over 6,000 shoppers visit the market weekly for fresh produce, smoked meats, locally canned jams, gourmet baked-goods, and more—visit the convenient harvest calendar to find out when your favorite fruits and vegetables are available!

This year’s market has been expanded by closing 11th Street between Jackson and Howard. Mingle with foodies, families, and local chefs as they select the best of Nebraska and Iowa produce from a long list of over 100 trusted vendors.

History

The Omaha Farmers Market is a tradition nearly one hundred years in the making. The "City Market" on the corner of 11th and Jackson Streets was home to a very popular farmers market. Local residents and grocers relied on the market for their produce and fresh goods beore its closing in 1964.

After a 30 year hiatus, the Omaha Farmers Market returned in 1994, once again filling the Old Market with a selection of fresh locally grown produce, baked goods, and flowers. It is the best opportunity in Omaha for the would-be supermarket shopper to buy fresh local products and meet the farmers that makethis tradition possible!
