Council Bluffs Half Marathon and 5k

The Council Bluffs Half Marathon and 5k is a fit, fun activity for serious runners and families alike. Start times for the event are as follows:

• Half-Marathon 7:00 AM
• 5K Run/Walk 7:00 AM
• 1 Mile Fun Run 9:00AM

The half marathon is open to all participants over the age of 12 that can complete the course in under 4 hours (walkers too!). Features of the half marathon:

• Flat, fast, and certified. There are Mile Markers, timing clocks, and medical coverage along the entire course, along with the enthusiastic support of fans and volunteers along the race route. 
• Race numbers and Timing Chips are required to participate, and bandits (unauthorized runners) are discouraged. The Council Bluffs Half is “friendly” to  headphones, roller skates, in-line skates, baby joggers, strollers, etc. though caution is urged and safety paramount.

Online registration for all three races is still available. Half marathoners receive a free technical shirt, while 5k/fun runners receive a free t-shirt along with their registration! The Half Marathon Spaghetti Feed And don’t forget: the Half Marathon Spaghetti Feed takes place Saturday May 22nd, featuring live music, children’s activities, and extended hours for businesses and many of Council Bluff’s downtown historic sights and attractions! The dinner will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm and in Bayliss Park, the town square of Council Bluffs. Bayliss Park recently received a $5 million dollar renovation, with a beautiful fountain as its center piece. The park is a great place to enjoy an evening and see what Council Bluffs has to offer!
