Places in Omaha - Parks, Golf, Playgrounds, Trails

If you like green space, you’ve come to the right place! Omaha has parks, trails, forests, rivers, streams, and most everything in between. Some cities do, too, but Omaha’s are BIGGER. Really, they are. Take the Fontenelle Nature Association, for example. They operate 2,000 acres of preserved forest, prairie, and wetland, along with 26 miles of trails, all less than half an hour from downtown Omaha. There are 80 additional miles of trails in the Omaha metro-area alone, spanning the entire city and into Council Bluffs. The City of Omaha Parks and Rec. Dept. also maintains specialty parks, like Roberts Skate Park, two indoor ice rinks, numerous lakes, even downtown’s super pretty Gene Leahy Mall. In Omaha, you’re never very far from a park, so choose the one that’s right for you.
